Authorities are looking into how an inmate was mistakenly released from the Oklahoma County Detention Center back in April.According to officials with the jail, on April 12, Reimundo Cuevas was sentenced to the Department of Corrections custody for 25 years. On April 21, officials said he was mistakenly released from the jail. “We are investigating how this mistake occurred to ensure it cannot happen again,” Jessica Brown, a spokesperson with the detention center, said in a statement to KOCO 5.Cuevas turned himself back over the weekend, officials said.

Authorities are looking into how an inmate was mistakenly released from the Oklahoma County Detention Center back in April.

According to officials with the jail, on April 12, Reimundo Cuevas was sentenced to the Department of Corrections custody for 25 years. On April 21, officials said he was mistakenly released from the jail.
