Manchester United defender Leny Yoro thinks he needs to be more aggressive next season.

United announced the signing of Yoro from Lille for €62m plus €8m in add-ons last summer. Liverpool and Real Madrid were also interested but United won the race for his signature.

Yoro suffered a metatarsal injury in pre-season, but he returned from the sidelines to make his debut against Arsenal in December. Ruben Amorim described the defender as a "special talent", and he subsequently cemented his place in the starting XI.

The Frenchman has grown in confidence since he was relocated to the left side of the back-three and started in the Europa League final, despite needing a late fitness test to feature.

Yoro picked up a small injury against West Ham. That didn't stop him from winning the race against time to play in Bilbao, although he wasn't fit enough to travel on the post-season tour.

The 19-year-old's first year in Manchester has been disrupted by injuries, but Yoro has proven his quality and scored his first United goal against Lyon in the Europa League quarter-finals.

"Honestly, I was not ready to score," Yoro told Rising Ballers about his first goal. "I didn't celebrate because I wanted to play quickly to try and win the game. I was really happy because my family were there. And after the game, they were really happy for me and proud, so it was good."

Yoro speaks with maturity beyond his years and was asked what how he can improve. "Maybe I would say sometimes the aggressiveness," he said. "I think I can be more aggressive because with the ball, I need to improve, of course, but I think I'm good [when in possession]."

During the interview, Yoro was asked what his five-year plan was for the future. “I hope I will stay here for sure in Manchester. I [hope] I can say I won some titles,” he replied.

Yoro also revealed former Southampton defender Jose Fonte was a role model to him.

"Jose Fonte didn't tell me this, but I saw it when I was at Lille. He is a really experienced player and I've seen the way his body is at his age, and the way he is still able to play," he explained.

"When I saw everything he is doing outside of football, I understood the work outside is the most important thing to do to stay in football for as long as you can."
