The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education welcomes the incarceration of the alleged rape perpetrator at Inkosi Bizimali High School

The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Education, Mr. Sipho Hlomuka visited inkosi Bizimali High School following reports of an alleged serial rapist's attack on learners. The MEC is pleased with the collaborative efforts of the entire community of the Nhloshane area in bringing about harmony, while ensuring that justice prevails.

Upon arrival at this largely populated school, which is greatly known for its consistency in the production of peerless NSC Examination Results, the MEC noted with content the support demonstrated by Amakhosi to this school.

"When I learned of the devastating incidents that had engulfed inkosi Bizimali, I felt saddened and largely disappointed, I could only imagine the pain and horror felt by learners, hence I had to come see you and ensure that you are safe." said MEC Hlomuka.

"The traditional leadership of this area has proved without doubt that indeed, education is societal matter, your direct involvement in school governance is commendable, you provided guidance and stern leadership at a time of need and we salute you.

Traditional leadership of the INgono Tribal Authority in particular, Chairperson of the Amabhele Chieftaincy, Mr Ntuli, Inkosi Dlomo of Amakhabela and Inkosi Xulu, Gxabhashe! We are humbled under your leadership and confident that the schools are safe in your respective areas," said MEC Sipho Hlomuka in honour of Amakhosi.

The MEC for Education was accompanied by officials from sister Departments, who also committed to offering services required by the school, namely; the Department of Social Development and the Department of Community Safety and Liaison.

“We are pleased of the perpetrator's incarceration, I will be in court when he makes an appearance in support of our learners, and hence, call for justice, that he be denied bail,” remarked MEC Hlomuka.

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education would like to reassure the public that teaching and learning continues without hindrance at Inkosi Bizimali High School and calm and harmony has been restored.
